Poop Deck

Sunday after church was coop clean up day. We go in and rake up all the old hay and throw it out into the chicken run. They love to scratch through the old stuff. They also love when we put down new stuff. Instead of hay this time around we used pine shavings. It's not what we normally use, but we had some left over we wanted to finish off.

If you scroll down you will see where I wrote about a crazy small egg... well... when I collected eggs before we cleaned I had a crazy big egg. It's nice when you can get a variety of sizes... and colors by the way.

Not sure how this page thing is going to work. I want to add to my page without deleting what's on here from yesterday... Mmmm. I will have to give that some thought and research. For now I'll just date each entry! Anyone with suggestions please feel free to comment!!

Today I wanted to say good morning from the coop before the morning slipped away. But as life would have it, my day job got in the way!! Since he does this all day long, I figured an afternoon crow would be OK!

So I wanted to introduce y'all to my chickens in a really fun, cute way. I had all these plans... then I went outside last night to collect eggs and this happened.

I've had my chickens about 18 months and this is a first. We've had really BIG eggs before, double yokers!! But we've never had a grape sized egg before!!

You can see the guilty girls in the background. The saying "birds of a feather flock together" is for real!! Because when I asked who the slacker was, I just got a one eyed, beady look from them all! LoL!

Introductions coming soon!!
